As part of the 12th SunChild International Environmental Festival, the winning teams of the "Animal Mask Parade" visited the FPWC Educational Eco-Center.
The teams from Darakert's D. Ladoyan High School and the "Yerevak" Educational Complex were recognized as the best by the parade jury. Their prize was a two-day experience at the eco-center, participating in numerous interactive workshops. The students' visit coincided with the preparation of the bears at the FPWC's Wildlife Rescue Center for their winter hibernation. During their stay, the students helped organize a festive "celebration" for the bears before they entered their winter slumber.
The "Animal Mask Parade" is a colorful and inspiring march through Yerevan's central streets, showcasing costumes representing endangered animals, all made from recycled materials. Beyond the creativity, the event aims to raise awareness among young people about critical biodiversity issues. It also fosters practical skills related to waste management and repurposing materials, giving waste a "second life."
