We were honored to welcome the UK Ambassador to Armenia, H.E. Alexandra Cole, to the Caucasus Wildlife Refuge and our Wildlife Rescue Center, where FPWC founder Ruben Khachatryan gave a guided tour of our conservation and animal welfare work on the ground.

During the visit, we discussed FPWC’s long-standing collaboration with UK partners, including BirdLife International and World Land Trust, as well as the impact of ongoing Darwin Initiative and ELSP projects supporting biodiversity protection and community-based conservation in Armenia.

The conversation also touched on the upcoming CBD COP17, which Armenia has the honor of hosting in 2026 — a historic opportunity to showcase innovative conservation models, international cooperation, and the role of civil society in protecting biodiversity.

We deeply value the UK’s continued engagement and partnership in advancing nature conservation in Armenia and the wider region.
