The newest generation of the video and photo recording trap cameras enhanced to receive a photo of highly elusive, rarely detectable and endangered Wildcat-Felis silvestris, first ever time in the territory of the Caucasus Wildlife Refuge. Do not get confused with the dates-the photo has been recorded and sent online on November 19th, 2015.
The abundance of Wildcat in Ararat region have not been studied since Soviet times in Armenia, and only scarce scientific data is available on their population size and preferred habitat, so FPWC field team is thrilled to share the first photo recorded ever in Caucasus Wildlife Refuge of this magnificent felid!
