About the human – nature connection. Sunchild Eco – Clubs of Armenia

Published on 21/12/2022

The schoolchildren of Sunchild Eco clubs from Vayots Dzor and Gegharkunik regions met each other again in the eco-center of CWR.

Classes on Armenia’s natural heritage, flora & fauna, film production, community development, active citizenship and personal growth, active discussions and practical work helped the children re-value their connection with nature, understand the links of human-wildlife circle,  know more on the sustainable use of the planet’s  resources & make responsible choices in their daily life

The Summer  Camp featured more than a dozen of workshops, excursions, debates and discussions, environmental classes and daily workout for kids aged 12-17.

The schoolchildren discussed & suggested solutions to environmental problems of their communities based on their own experience, initiated & raised environmental problems their communities are facing and came up with solutions

The Summer School was preceded by a 7-month theoretical and practical classes in the eco-clubs, and the Summer Camp summarized the knowledge gained that will help kids turn this knowledge into effective tools for community’s sustainable development.

Through utilizing the skills obtained during their theoretical and practical trainings, the schoolchildren initiate debates & raise problems through writing/journalism, photographing and making the environmental issued heard to their administrative heads through various channels
