With the support of Ucom, a new wildlife monitoring camera system has been installed in the Paruyr Sevak community of Ararat Province. The company ensured the system's uninterrupted connectivity and the server infrastructure necessary for data storage.
The new system makes it possible to receive, securely transmit, and store monitoring data in real time, providing round-the-clock surveillance of the area.
"It is important to us that Ucom's technological capabilities are also applied where they can create long-term value for nature. This project is an example of combining connectivity, data, and environmental work, where technology becomes not just infrastructure, but a tool for conservation. We will continue to support initiatives that contribute to the preservation of Armenia's nature," said Ralph Yirikian, Director General of Ucom.
The camera system is of key importance for the preservation of the Caucasus Wildlife Refuge (CWR) territories. It makes it possible to detect smoke and potential fire hotspots at an early stage in hard-to-reach and environmentally sensitive areas, as well as to record non-standard movements, poaching attempts, and illegal entries, enabling the protection service to respond quickly.
At the same time, round-the-clock monitoring is carried out without interfering with the animals' natural life activities or disturbing them.
"The introduction of this system is an important step toward more effective conservation of the area's biodiversity. We are grateful to Ucom for standing by us with technological solutions in wildlife conservation," said Ruben Khachatryan, Founder and Director of the Foundation for the Preservation of Wildlife and Cultural Assets (FPWC).
Implementing technological solutions aimed at wildlife conservation is one of the important directions of Ucom's environmental and corporate social responsibility programs. The company continues to support the preservation of Armenia's ecosystems and biodiversity by employing modern connectivity and technological solutions for environmental initiatives.
