In TUMO calendar April 22 was marked in green – it was the World Earth Day. On the 22nd of April TUMO had lots of guests with bikes as a bicycle march was planned on that day.

The Foundation for Preservation of Wildlife and Cultural Assets and the “Sunchild” NGO presented “The Green Mobility” project at “Tumo” Center for Creative Technologies. “The Green Mobility” is funded by the UNDP-GEF Small Grants Program in Armenia.

Two short animated films – “CO2″ and “The Fridge” were shown for the TUMO students, afterwards there came a lively discussion about the Earth’s environmental problems. There was also a discussion about what is the greenhouse effect, the greenhouse gases, how they arise, help or damage the atmosphere.

The members of “Sunchild” NGO have gone to the course-meeting  by electric bikes and the young participants had an opportunity to test them. All of this was followed by a bicycle tour throughout the Tumanyan park.

The purpose of “The Green Mobility” is to integrate the culture of biking, to spread the use of alternative vehicles and to increase the level of trust and awareness of E-bikes.

The Earth Day is celebrated worldwide on April 22. The mission of this day is once again to draw the attention of humanity to the environmental problems of our planet and remind that each day is an Earth Day.
