The Transportation Issue of Dprabak

Published on 15/04/2019

Haven’t heard news from our eco clubs for a while?

On April 19, the members of the Drprabak Eco Club visited the Chambarak Municipality to learn about its activities and to ask their questions to the Deputy Mayor, Mr. Robert Ohanyan.

Hamest, a participant of the Drprabak Eco Club who lives in the nearby village of Dzoravank, raised concerns about inter-community transportation. There is no transport connecting the villages, and students often have to walk 3 km to get to school.

Mane, on the other hand, was interested in the issue of waste management in the village. Due to the absence of a waste collection system, the river has effectively become the only “garbage collector.”

Mr. Ohanyan noted that these are priority issues for the municipality and that solutions will be provided soon.

After the interview, the eco club members visited all departments of the municipality and became familiar with their functions.

The program is implemented within the framework of the project “EU for Tourism: Community-Based Rural Tourism and Cultural Events in Gegharkunik and Vayots Dzor Regions,” funded by the European Union and implemented in cooperation with World Vision Armenia.
