On December 23, a round table discussion was held in Urtsadzor village of Ararat region with the participation of representatives of the RA NAS Institute of Archeology and Ethnography, RA Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport and Areni-1 Cave Scientific Research Foundation and community members. The discussion was aimed at the issues of conserving the cultural heritage of Armenia’s communities, their protection issues, prospects, public awareness raising and exchange of best experience existing in the regions.
Presentations were held during the round table by the invited experts about the issue of preserving the heritage of cultural value & historical assets in communities. The meeting was accompanied by a short hiking tour in the surroundings of the region with stories of locals about the community development & nature protection projects implemented by FPWC in the regions of Armenia with clear examples about preserving the cultural assets in the territory of the region.
By the end of the meeting, the participants got acquainted with the development model of Urtsadzor village and agreed to work more intensively on awareness raising in the communities where they work as well to localize the existing best practices in their communities.
