These camera trap footages have been taken in the Caucasus Wildlife Refuge and although we knew there are badgers out there, this was the first series of videos outlining the natural behavior of badgers in the territory. This cute badger prepares for winter sleep, cleans his sett and fills his nesting chamber with bedding. Upon retiring to sleep, he will block the sett entrances with dry leaves and earth and leave the sett occasionally during the winter.
Badgers clean their setts also during spring which is connected with the birth of cubs, and may occur several times during the summer to prevent parasite levels building up.
