A memorandum of understanding was signed in the Belgian city of Mechelen between the Foundation for the Preservation of Wildlife and Cultural Assets (FPWC), the environmental NGO ArAves, BirdLife International, and Natuurpunt.
Within the framework of the Quartet Memorandum of Cooperation, the organizations expressed readiness to provide maximum support to the FPWC and ArAves in their environmental and conservation activities.
“We are glad that this important memorandum has been signed between Armenian and international organizations. The memorandum is important not only for our organizations but for Armenia in general. It will support local NGOs to mitigate environmental and conservation challenges in Armenia, involving the professional potential of partner organizations. As a result of the wide-ranging discussion, the organizations will implement several projects soon aimed at the conservation and restoration of wetland bird habitats, as well as several other educational initiatives”,- the director of the Foundation for The Preservation of Wildlife and Cultural Assets Ruben Khachatryan noted. He added that joint visits are expected already this summer.
Natuurpunt was founded in 1951 in Belgium and is a member of BirdLife International in Flanders. BirdLife is one of the largest environmental networks in the world, represented by local member organizations in 115 countries around the world.
