On September 24, FPWC presented its ongoing “Reduction of poverty in Urtsadzor community cluster by developing (self) employment opportunities” project at the 3th Festival of Rural Life and Traditions.
FPWC was presenting eco-friendly products’ prototypes that will be circulated throughout local and international markets starting next year. Dried fruit, herbs and honey were displayed in in the booth.
Other project components include eco and agro-tourism, organic agriculture, computer literacy and English courses for beneficiary community members.
By this project FPWC aims to ensure a long-term economic growth in the community cluster by encouraging establishment and development of small business.
The implementation of the project is carried out in Urtsadzor, Shaghap, Lusashogh and Lanjanist communities of Ararat region from May 2016 with the support of European Union.
The festival is organized by the Green Lane NGO and aims to promote sustainable agricultural development and support farmers to present their products to the broader audience. More than 70 farmers, cooperatives, individuals and entrepreneurs participated in the festival.
