On October 14-15, FPWC participated in the BirdLife Europe and Central Asia Restoration Working Group (RWG) meeting held in Almaty, Kyrgyzstan, as part of the European Partnership Meeting. This gathering brought together BirdLife partners from across the region to discuss the realities, challenges, and opportunities of nature restoration work in Europe and Central Asia.

The sessions focused on the challenges of designing, implementing, and monitoring nature restoration projects. Using real-world terrestrial and marine case studies from the Partnership, the group explored best practices and lessons learned. Key topics included effective monitoring strategies for restoration projects, developing equitable and inclusive approaches, and securing sustainable funding for these initiatives.

FPWC, as a part of the RWG, is actively working on a large-scale restoration project in Armenia. The meeting served as an important platform to explore pathways for integrating international expertise and leveraging the experience of BirdLife Europe partners to strengthen Armenia's efforts in holistic nature restoration.

FPWC’s participation underlines its commitment to contributing to nature conservation not only locally but also in collaboration with a broader international network. Through the RWG, FPWC aims to ensure that its restoration initiatives in Armenia are impactful, inclusive, and aligned with global best practices.
