The Foundation for Preservation of Wildlife and Cultural Assets within the framework of cooperation with the Ministry of Nature Protection of RA has donated electric fences powered by solar panels to the “Khosrov Forest” State Reserve.

This is a pilot project, and in case of success, these equipments will be placed in the other reserves, specially protected areas and national parks in Armenia.

These electric “herdsmen” are low voltage electric fences, which prevent the animals from entering a certain area, without damaging them. Those placed in the “Khosrov Forest” are designed for protecting the beehives from bears, and the horses of possible attacks of the wolves.

Trap cameras will be placed next to the electric fences in order to implement the monitoring process.
